In its latest rankings of the nation’s best colleges, U.S. News & World Report named Rollins the No. 1 regional university in the South. It was the 25th year in a row that the College was ranked among the region’s best two universities, but it’s far from Rollins’ only top accolade. In fact, college experts have ranked Rollins among the nation’s best for everything from academic and athletic excellence to undergraduate teaching and experiential learning. Explore a few examples of how those in the know rank Rollins the best of the best.
No. 1 for Best Undergraduate Teaching Programs
In addition to naming Rollins the No. 1 regional university in the South, U.S. News & World Report also ranked the College No. 1 for best undergraduate teaching programs. Thanks to our 11:1 student-faculty ratio and average class size of just 17, Rollins students receive individualized attention from expert faculty inside and outside the classroom, helping them develop their personal and professional passions and achieve their career and life goals.
No. 1 for Leadership Development
For the fourth year in a row, HR.com ranked Rollins the nation’s No. 1 master’s program for leadership and organizational development. It’s little surprise that Rollins alumni have gone on to prominent leadership at some of the world’s top organizations—from Apple and Amazon to JP Morgan Chase and the Walt Disney Co.
No. 1 Most Beautiful Campus
Year after year, everyone from Niche to Condé Nast Traveler ranks Rollins among the nation’s best college campuses. But in 2015 The Princeton Review named our lakeside location the No. 1 most beautiful campus in the country—recognition that no one who has ever visited this place will dispute. No. 1 MBA in Florida
Both Forbes and Bloomberg Businessweek consistently rank Rollins’ Crummer Graduate School of Business the No. 1 MBA program in Florida. Thanks to Rollins’ Accelerated Management Program, enterprising students can earn a top-ranked undergraduate business degree and a top-ranked MBA in just five years.
No. 1 for Alternative Breaks
In 2018, Rollins was No. 1 nationally for the highest percentage of students who participate in alternative breaks. It was the sixth consecutive year that Rollins ranked in the top five for this accolade and the fourth time the College has taken the top spot. Rollins’ Immersion experiences allow students to engage some of the world’s most pressing issues through weekend and sometimes weeklong journeys of education, reflection, and action. They also give Tars a leg up in the job market. After all, a recent survey of employers revealed that 83 percent of hiring managers are more likely to hire candidates who have participated in a field-based project in a community with people from diverse backgrounds.
No. 1 Most Engaged Campus in Florida
Florida Campus Compact named Rollins the Most Engaged Campus of 2018 for the College’s demonstrated commitment to social and community engagement. The award recognizes Florida institutions for exemplary commitment to advancing the civic purposes of higher education by improving community life and educating students for social and community responsibility.
No. 1 Academic Success Rate in Sunshine State Conference
In 2018, Rollins earned its eighth consecutive Division II Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence, which honors schools where student-athletes achieve an academic success rate of 90 percent or higher. Rollins’ 95 percent success rate was tied with Eckerd for the No. 1 spot in the 11-school Sunshine State Conference.
No. 1 Hotel in Florida
Between 2015 and 2017, Condé Nast Traveler named The Alfond Inn at Rollins the No. 1 hotel in Florida. In particular, the College’s boutique inn was recognized for its impressive art collection and philanthropic mission.
No. 1 College in the South
College Consensus—which combines rankings from top publishers and reviews from students—has ranked Rollins the No. 1 college in the South for three consecutive years.
No. 1 DII Women’s Golf Program
Rollins was recently ranked No. 1 among the country’s more than 150 Division II women’s golf programs in NCSA’s 2018 power rankings. Rollins’ women’s golf program has won 13 national championships since 1948.
No. 1 Academic Programs in Florida
Rollins’ communication studies, international business, and theatre programs were recently ranked No. 1 in Florida. From biology to business, Rollins offers more than 50 majors and minors as well as accelerated degree programs and pre-professional programs in law, medicine, and more.
No. 1 Liberal Arts College in Florida
Niche named Rollins the top liberal arts college in Florida in its 2020 guide to the nation’s best colleges. The comprehensive college search tool recognized Rollins for its small class sizes and engaged, approachable professors along with standout programs in communication, international relations, and business.
