Rollins has been ranked one of the top regional universities in the South in the 2019 rankings of “Best Colleges,” released today by U.S. News & World Report.

Rollins was ranked No. 2 among the 165 colleges and universities in this category, which is composed of schools that provide a full range of undergraduate and master’s-level programs.

For 24 years in a row, Rollins has been ranked among the top two regional universities in the South and has been the top-ranked Florida school in the category.

“Rollins is proud to be recognized so prominently among the nation’s best colleges year after year,” said Rollins President Grant Cornwell. “Our longevity at the top of this ranking is a testament to the College’s long tradition of academic excellence, the rigor of a Rollins education, and the achievement of our innovative faculty and industrious students.”

The “Best Colleges” rankings evaluate colleges and universities on 16 measures of academic quality, and Rollins continues to rank high among some of the country’s most renowned institutions based on such widely accepted indicators of excellence as first-year student retention, graduation rates, and the strength of the faculty.

In addition to ranking among the top regional universities in the South, Rollins was also recognized for its strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, its high proportion of international undergraduates, and for having one of the best undergraduate business programs in the country. The College was also named one of the South’s most innovative schools, and it made the list of schools whose 2017 classes graduated with the lightest debt loads.

“Recognition of this sort underscores how well Rollins is delivering on its promise to educate students for global citizenship and responsible leadership, empowering them to lead meaningful lives and forge productive careers,” says Cornwell. “It’s affirmation that our innovative, intimate, inclusive, and interdisciplinary learning environment is the best way to prepare the next generation of leaders to meet the challenges of the 21st century.”

The print edition of the “Best Colleges 2019” guidebook can be purchased online now or on newsstands October 16.
