Envisioning the Future

The Rollins Museum of Art is creating a stunning new home that will transform our impact, capabilities, and future. The ambitious, reimagined venue will allow us to serve as a cultural destination and community hub essential to the Rollins campus and the greater Orlando area. Designed by nationally renowned architects Frederick Fisher & Partners, the new facility is scheduled to open in early 2028.

The expanded 32,000-square-foot facility will more than double the Museum’s gallery space, allowing us to create and present a wider range of art, in both type and scale, and showcase major traveling exhibitions. The new venue will allow us to collaborate with prominent artists and debut new works that build on our existing collection.

Relocated to downtown Winter Park to better serve museum visitors and the broader community, the building will offer improved accessibility and convenient connections to public transportation and nearby amenities.

The Museum is part of a larger Rollins College project: the Innovation Triangle, which also comprises a new Institute for Management and Executive Leadership, and the current expansion of The Alfond Inn.

Strategic Objectives

The new museum facility will allow not only increased programming serving a wider constituency, but also new and enhanced experiences. Our vision for greater and differentiated impact in the community is embedded in our teaching mission and the way we can deploy it once we are off campus. The new facility and location will help accomplish three main strategic objectives:

  • Welcoming a significantly broader audience with the goal to transform casual looking into sustained engagement and life-long learning.
  • Sharing art engagement strategies specific to college art museums with the community at large.
  • Building new models of creativity, innovation, and leadership training through the arts in partnership with the Crummer Graduate School of Business by leveraging our collocation.
