Rollins’ appointment of Mike Brown as executive director of alumni engagement is an important step in implementing strategic initiatives while building a bridge between graduate and undergraduate alumni programs.

Brown, who recently served nearly five years as director of alumni relations for Rollins’ Crummer Graduate School of Business, will work with staff and alumni boards to oversee both the College’s undergraduate alumni engagement and Crummer alumni relations programs.

“This move structurally unifies our engagement and fundraising work across the College,” notes Myrna Bizer, associate vice president for advancement. “Mike is looking forward to the new challenge, the increased collaboration, and working with a broad-based team.”

In his previous role, Brown served as a member of the Dean of Crummer’s Leadership Team while working with the Crummer Alumni Board to deliver programming and events to more than 7,000 Crummer alumni worldwide. Before joining the Rollins team, Brown served as the assistant director of alumni groups at the University of Notre Dame, where he supervised the department, overseeing 270 Notre Dame Clubs across the globe as well as six alumni advisory boards.

“Programming for and working with [Notre Dame’s] extensive alumni network was great preparation for coming to Rollins,” says Brown. “Both groups of alumni are very passionate and dedicated to their schools and willing to give back with their time, which is commendable and appreciated.”

With the launch of the new Alumni Strategic Plan in December 2022 and big goals on the horizon, Rollins is confident that Brown has the vision and experience needed for this key role.

“The future of our office is all about alumni,” says Brown, “meeting them where they are in different stages of their lives, providing them with thoughtful and meaningful ways to give back to their school, and adding value to their professional and personal lives.”
