To Imagine a Home
September 12, 2026 – January 3, 2027
What are the key qualities that make a place feel like home? How do spaces and structures influence our understanding of history, community, and belonging over time? To Imagine a Home features a selection of works from the museum’s collection that explore the many, often complex ways we connect with the spaces we live in. Together, these works examine the physical, metaphorical, and imagined aspects of the concept of home. Each piece offers a unique perspective, encouraging reflection on how lived spaces hold memories, while also offering opportunities to reinterpret them.
To Imagine a Home is organized by Rollins Museum of Art and features works by Allen Fireall, Pepón Osorio, Emilio Sánchez, Yinka Shonibare, Becky Suss, and two new acquisitions by La Vaughn Belle. The exhibition is in dialogue with Belle’s installation, The House that Freedoms Built, on view concurrently on the Rollins College campus.
