Rollins Trustee David Lord ’69 ’71MBA ’16H has been nominated for Housing Colorado’s Eagle Award, which recognizes individuals for their work around affordable housing.
The Eagle Awards are presented annually and represent the best of what the affordable housing industry has to offer. With three categories of awards, the Eagle Awards recognize a diverse cross section of the people, programs, and projects that are making a difference in the lives of low- to moderate-income families across the state.
The nomination submission states, “David Lord, a beacon of compassion, champions affordable housing with unwavering dedication. [...] His tireless efforts resonate with the essence of home, turning dreams into reality for those in need. David’s impact echoes through the community, weaving a tapestry of hope and shelter for those in need.”
Lord is the visionary founder of the Pikes Peak Housing Network, where he strategically tackles housing challenges, particularly focusing on seniors and affordable housing. As chair of the Silver Key Foundation and vice chair of Silver Key Apartments, Lord is the driving force behind transformative initiatives, and his commitment to innovation is further demonstrated by his active participation in the Innovations in Aging Collaborative, showcasing a hands-on approach that goes beyond boardroom discussions.
In his role as president of the RNR Family Foundation, Lord excels in forging partnerships with community leaders, businesses, and philanthropic entities. His influence in health care and aging issues is evident through his work with the Penrose St. Francis Hospital Foundation and the statewide entities Age-Friendly Colorado Springs and El Paso County Steering Committee, where he builds consensus among health-care providers, local government officials, and community advocates to address pressing challenges.
Serving as a trustee at Rollins and board chair of the Global Livingston Institute (GLI), he pioneers collaborations between educational institutions and nonprofits, leveraging their collective strengths to achieve positive impacts.
