Steve O’Donnell ’91 has recently been named the new president of NASCAR, taking on day-to-day leadership of the sport’s operations, competition, and commercial business across its national and international series as well as local and grassroots racing.

A longtime executive within the organization, most recently as COO, O’Donnell brings more than 30 years of experience with NASCAR to his new role, where he will also oversee the sport’s major investments in content creation and distribution. As the organization’s sixth president, he will continue to guide NASCAR’s superior partnership value and development of the sport as it evolves for a new generation of racing fans.

Reflecting on his time in the industry, O’Donnell shares that he’s inspired by the enthusiasm of race fans nationwide. “It’s been a privilege to help bring our sport to those fans through incredible new venues and innovative, engaging content that showcases the best racing in our storied history,” he says. “I’m honored to continue that mission and help deliver the best racing to sports fans everywhere.”
