Welcome to the March 2023 edition of Class News, our monthly snapshot of the personal and professional milestones and adventures of your fellow Tars.
Each month we’ll share a collection of the most recent submissions, so don’t forget to keep us up to date on your latest news.
Across the Arts
This June, Laura Raborn Brainard ’93 will be teaching an art workshop in the Umbria region of Italy. “The Figure in Action: How to Loosely and Accurately Create Paintings of People in Their Environment” will be a painting and drawing immersion for artists of all levels.
Kim Donovan ’97 received a 2022 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Casting for an Animated Program for Go! Go! Cory Carson. Donovan is founder and casting director of KSD Casting whose purview includes podcasts, game shows, cartoons, video games, and scratch for Netflix, Kuku Studios, Tonko House, and Steel Wool Studios, among others.
Gatherings & Milestones
David Helmers ’91 hosted a January “Rollins in a Box” gathering in Las Vegas that was attended by nearly 40 Rollins alumni from the late 1980s and early ’90s. Many X-Club alumni joined the reunion as well as Tars from around the country.
J. Danielle Smith Trinidad ’01 welcomed her son, Axel Xander, on August 29, 2022.
Charlie Fitzgerald IV ’12 ’13MBA married Erin Donohoe on January 21, 2023, in Rollins’ Knowles Memorial Chapel.
In January, Wendy Schafer ’13 ’14MBA hosted the very first “Rollins in a Box” event in Atlanta. Over a dozen area alumni joined the gathering and reconnected with fellow Tars.
Onward & Upward
Virginia “Ginny” Bozeman ’99 has recently joined Pope Flynn, a law firm headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina, that focuses on governmental and public finance matters. She will be providing counsel to local governments while continuing to serve as lead county attorney in the South Carolina Midlands. Bozeman received her JD from the University of Memphis and is a member of both the Tennessee and South Carolina bars.
Ryan Sheehy ’04MA has been named vice president of marketing and public relations at Seagate Development Group in Fort Myers, Florida. Sheehy has spent her career representing world-renowned brands in the fields of live entertainment and tourism, most recently building her own full-service agency in Philadelphia before returning home to southwest Florida.
Michael Levitt ’07 has recently been appointed to the position of cathedral organist and assistant director of music at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine, Florida. Established in 1565, the cathedral is the oldest congregation in the contiguous U.S.
