Approved Service Opportunities

As recognized leaders in the Holt School community, scholarship recipients are required to contribute at least four hours of service per academic year to one of the approved opportunities. We appreciate that many students contribute above and beyond the four-hour requirement and that some students are also involved in other community and campus groups and events. We believe that engagement on the local level facilitates individual growth and promotes community within the Hamilton Holt School.

PROCESS TO VOLUNTEER FOR AN APPROVED EVENT

Identify service opportunities of interest to you. Please note that there are a specified number of volunteers needed for each event. Events will be staffed on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact the office or person indicated by the specified deadline. You will be asked to select another event if a sufficient number of volunteers has already been identified. Please do not wait until the last minute.

All scholarship recipients will be required to report service as part of the award renewal process and will be held accountable under the Rollins Honor Code for the accuracy of reported service.

Note:  Please contact holtscholarships@rollins.edu prior to May 1, 2019, if you encounter personal hardship that you anticipate will affect your ability to participate.  Explain your difficulties – provide medical substantiation, as appropriate.  It may be possible to waive or substitute other service opportunities in such cases.
