Hope Scholarship Award

Hope CommUnity Center is a service learning community dedicated to the empowerment of Central Florida's immigrant and working poor communities through education, advocacy, and spiritual growth. Applicants for this award must have participated in services provided by Hope CommUnity Center, and must be referred by Hope.

This award provides a degree completion opportunity for transfer students with some previous college experience. The intention of the award is to permit students to attend on a part-time basis. The award will cover the cost of up to three classes per semester (maximum nine courses per academic year) in order to permit students to participate on a self-paced basis. The award will be renewable for a period of four years from the student’s starting term, or until graduation provided that the student remains continuously enrolled and in good academic and social standing at the institution.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must live within a 60 mile radius of Rollins College.
  • A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better is preferred. Students with a lower cumulative average may appeal for application consideration if they have demonstrated two or more recent semesters of 3.0 or better.
  • Must have been a recent participant in services provided by the Hope CommUnity Center, and must be referred by a Hope CommUnity Center staff member.

Application Process:

Applicants must complete the Hamilton Holt School admission process (including submission of official high school and/or college transcripts),  and the scholarship application .  Applications will be accepted January 1 - March 1, 2017.

Most awards are based on a combination of academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, and/or demonstrated financial need (eligibility based on the information reported on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid – FAFSA).
