U.S. News & World Report ranks Rollins the No. 1 regional university in the South in its annual rankings of the nation’s best colleges.

For the 2022-23 school year, Rollins has once again been named the No. 1 regional university in the South by U.S. News & World Report, the nation’s preeminent source for consumer advice, rankings, and analysis.

To determine the rankings, the organization looked at thousands of schools across the country and evaluated them on 17 measures of quality, including graduation and retention rates, strength of faculty, student-to-faculty ratio, and low rates of student debt among graduates.

Rollins scored a perfect score of 100 in overall metrics to achieve the ranking of No. 1 among 134 colleges and universities in the category of undergraduate and master’s-granting regional institutions in the South. This year marks the 27th consecutive year that U.S. News & World Report has ranked the College among the top two regional universities in the South and the top-ranked Florida school in the category.

“We are proud that Rollins continues to be counted among the best colleges in the nation,” says Rollins President Grant Cornwell. “Our commitment to fostering global leaders has once again been affirmed by our being named No. 1 regional university in the South, and the fact that the College has received high praise in several other categories speaks to our mission to provide innovative, interdisciplinary education to our students. In particular, our rankings related to diversity and social mobility speak to our strategic DEI plan of action for the institution as we continue to work toward a more equitable future for all Tars.”

In addition to the top spot among the best of the best, Rollins earned a place on several other notable lists, including high marks among the best business schools in the nation, the No. 4 most innovative regional university in the South, and an overall best value school based on academic quality. The College was also ranked No. 2 for best undergraduate teaching programs, which recognizes colleges for having a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates. New this year are regional rankings related to campus diversity as well as social mobility, which measures the extent to which schools enroll and graduate students who receive federal Pell Grants.

Rollins’ high rankings across multiple categories continue to stand as a testament to the College’s core liberal arts ethos. From our promise to engage students in hands-on, personalized learning environments to our integrated approach to mentorship, we are devoted to helping Tars develop and apply future-proof skills that will serve them in the global market as they live out their purpose-driven lives and productive careers.

The print edition of the “Best Colleges 2022-2023” guidebook can be purchased online now or on newsstands in late October.
