Rollins Professors Present at Conference in Portugal

At the 15th annual meeting of ISIRC at the Universidade do Minho in Guimarães, Portugal, Anne Stone, communication professor and faculty director of the Social Impact Hub, and Melissa Nelson, staff director of the Social Impact Hub, presented a way of integrating research on developing a changemaker mindset into their work on life design. Education professor Jenn Manak presented her work on integrating transdisciplinary education into teacher preparation programs for sustainable development.

The main goal of the conference is to join together academics from a variety of fields with an interest in the topics of social innovation and social entrepreneurship, providing a forum of debate for researchers and practitioners, supporting the sharing of experiences, and promoting cross-knowledge. The 2023 ISIRC was dedicated to “enhancing the multidisciplinarity of social innovation: bringing together the social sciences, engineering and technology.”
