As part of Rollins’ Brighter Together campaign, Peter ’77 ’78MBA and Cappy Powell have committed $250,000 for the new Crummer Graduate School of Business facility and $125,000 for The Rollins Annual Fund.
The new state-of-the-art Crummer facility will be located just east of Park Avenue, near The Alfond Inn and the new Rollins Museum of Art. Together, they will form Rollins’ new Innovation Triangle, a hub of philanthropy, art, and entrepreneurship.
Powell is the former president and CEO of B.S.C. Holding, a leading producer and distributor of bulk rock salt and packaged specialty deicing products across North America, and former chairman of the Salt Institute.
“This gift is my way of thanking Rollins for having a significant impact on my career and life journey,” says Powell. “It’s also a tribute to Ray Hickok ’40, who founded the globally acclaimed Young Presidents Organization, which now has over 30,000 members. He was one of Rollins’ most influential alumni, and I benefitted greatly from being part of YPO.”
At Rollins, Powell was active in Phi Delta Theta fraternity, The Sandspur, and the Annie Russell Theatre. He has been a longtime contributor to the College, both financially and through service on the Alumni Board and President’s Leadership Council.
“As the Rollins community builds momentum for our Brighter Together campaign, we are grateful for the enthusiastic support of longtime donors like Peter and Cappy Powell,” says President Grant Cornwell. “Their commitment to Rollins is helping us pursue multiple opportunities to elevate the student experience, enhance programming, build new facilities, and improve our competitive position.”
