Non-Speaking Valedictorian to Address the Class of 2022

Elizabeth Bonker is profoundly affected by autism and is unable to speak. She was selected by the other 4 valedictorians to give the commencement address to the class of 2022.

Bonker, through a text-to-speech program, previews her upcoming speech. Rachel Newcomb, professor of anthropology, comments on what it was like to mentor Elizabeth.
