Micki Meyer, Lord Family assistant vice president for student affairs – community, has been honored with the 2020 Helen A. Ward Crossley Distinguished Service Award for Staff.

For more than 15 years, Meyer has served the students, faculty, and staff of Rollins with unwavering devotion. In particular, her emphasis on service learning, student engagement, and leadership initiatives have helped further the College’s mission of providing the best in liberal arts education while turning out responsible global citizens. Most recently, she led the renovation and re-opening teams for the Kathleen W. Rollins Hall project, collaborating with colleagues across campus to create an innovative space at the heart of campus.

As one colleague noted, “Meyer works tirelessly on projects, often ones that are unseen and unrecognized. She is always happy to serve as a point of contact for people to connect within Rollins and the local community.”

Another added, “She’s the ‘light’ in ‘Fiat Lux.’ She has taught us all so much about servant leadership and how to support our colleagues. She leads with grace and represents Rollins to the core. She lives the mission and truly embodies what this award was founded on.”

The Helen A. Ward Crossley Distinguished Service Award for Staff was established in 1999 as a means of recognizing Rollins staff members for their outstanding service and dedication to the College. The award is granted annually to a staff member whose contributions to the College over time most consistently demonstrate exceptional performance above and beyond normal job expectations. The award is named for Helen Crossley, who served under five College presidents over 59 years and personifies this recognition.
