Rollins Student Chapter Receives National Merit Award from SHRM
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has awarded the Rollins SHRM student chapter a 2022–23 national SHRM Merit Award for programming.
August 31, 2023
SHRM is the world’s largest HR association, with nearly 325,000 members dedicated to creating better workplaces and providing education, certification, and networking to its members. The SHRM Student Chapter Merit Award program recognizes student chapters for providing superior growth and development opportunities to its student members and distinguishes outstanding activities and projects. Chapters are recognized based on operations, chapter programming, and professional development of members; support of the human resource profession; and SHRM engagement.
“The dedication displayed by the Rollins SHRM student chapter underscores that the future of the profession is in good hands,” says Michael P. Aitken, SHRM’s chief membership officer. “I commend their achievements and their adeptness in cultivating inventive initiatives, growth, and enthusiasm for HR, especially as we steer through evolving work landscapes.”
Effective fall 2023, Rollins students will immediately become SHRM chapter members, a new student benefit as part of admission into the Master of Human Resources (MHR) program. The SHRM merit award and accompanying automatic student enrollment in SHRM show the College’s continued commitment to the HR profession and the value of the MHR program.
