Yanet Herrero ’20 and Lindsay Muscato ’07 both made the Orlando Business Journal’s annual list recognizing outstanding businesswomen in Central Florida.

Orlando Business Journal has released its annual list of businesswomen making waves throughout Central Florida, and two Rollins alumni have made the cut. The publication recognizes its Women Who Mean Business honorees as “individuals [who] have gone above and beyond their respective roles, driving business success, workforce development, and community advancement.”

Among this year’s 21 honorees include two Rollins graduates, both founders of fast-growing, innovative companies that are making a difference in our community.

Yanet Herrero ’20

President and CEO, Kings Service Solutions

Grateful to her parents for providing her with the “opportunity to live out [her] dreams in freedom,” Yanet Herrero ’20 was born in Havana, Cuba, and immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 7. Now she’s giving others the opportunity to chase their American dream. Along with her husband, Arnaldo, she founded Kings Service Solutions (KSS), a multi-state commercial cleaning company, in 2007.

As president and CEO of KSS, Herrero leads all aspects of the $10 million company whose strong culture is based on trust, integrity, passion, innovation, and the spirit of excellence. KSS has grown to serve industry-leading companies throughout Florida—from Trustco Bank and Florida’s Blood Centers to Lamm and Company Partners. The company has implemented innovative business processes and the latest in janitorial management software to increase efficiency and quality control. Recently KSS was featured on MSNBC in a segment on how technology is helping small companies.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, KSS is adding over 100 jobs to its current workforce of 500 and expanding to other states to create even more opportunities as it develops a construction service arm of its business.

Lindsay Muscato ’07

Founder, Teleties

After launching a successful shoe brand, art history major Lindsay Muscato ’07 founded her company Teleties, which creates multipurpose hair ties that double as chic bracelets. When the pandemic caused local retailers to close and incited major supply chain issues, Muscato was able to successfully pivot to an e-commerce model, and she credits Rollins for equipping her with the skills she needed to do it.

“Rollins helped prepare me for success in so many ways,” says Muscato. “The small class sizes created an intimate learning space for creative problem solving, collaborative teamwork, and critical thinking—all skills that translated into the professional world. My professors made themselves accessible and showed me that hard work and persistence would be rewarded. The personalized pathway that Rollins helped me create allowed me to gain confidence to pursue my dreams of entrepreneurship and make Teleties what it is today.”
