For the second consecutive year, Gelbman Family Chair of International Business and Professor of Marketing Marc Fetscherin has been recognized as one of the top scholars in the world based on an extensive ranking conducted by Stanford University researchers. The findings, published in the journal PloS Biology, looked at millions of academics across various fields and systematically ranked them based on how often their work is cited by other scholars. The ranking used six citation-related criteria to come up with the “composite citation index,” a single measure of academic performance.

Within the field of marketing, Fetscherin ranked No. 170 in the world and No. 88 in the United States. He was named the fourth most-cited marketing professional in Florida. His total global ranking in 2021 is No. 31,816 globally (in 2020 his rank was 41,215), which puts him in the top 1 percent in terms of citations across all scholars and disciplines.
