Undergraduate Programs

Major in Elementary Education

The major in elementary education will provide students with both coursework and practical application of skills to prepare them for a career in education. Students majoring in education will also complete a 15-week student teaching internship at an approved school. The State of Florida requires that students have a passing score on the General Knowledge portion of the Florida Teacher Certification Exam in order to be admitted to any state-approved program. All students completing a Florida state-approved program must pass all portions of the FTCE, including the General Knowledge portion, Professional Education portion, and the Subject Area Exam prior to graduation. Students can now take the SAE, PED, and GK exams online.
