Title IX and Violence Prevention

What is Title IX?

No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.

Rollins does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its educational program and activities or in the context of employment.  Sexual harassment, including sexual misconduct as defined in the Title IX policy, is a form of sex discrimination prohibited by Tile IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.  Sexual harassment is also prohibited under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and other applicable statutes.

The Office of Title IX leads Rollins’ efforts to prevent and respond to sex and gender-based discrimination. Title IX protects individuals of all genders, including individuals that identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual and/or transgender.
