Meredith Hein, M.A.

Meredith Hein serves as the Director for the Center of Leadership and Community Engagement at Rollins College. She completed her master's degree in education leadership: student personnel administration at the University of Central Florida in May of 2007. Meredith feels that working in higher education allows her to continually learn from those around her, as well as to teach. Meredith loves to learn and laugh, and as a member of the Rollins community, she gets the opportunity to do that on a daily basis. 

Motivating, teaching, and giving back to others is what inspires Meredith to be only a small part of such an amazingly engaged community. Within the Center at Rollins College, her work has focused in the areas of integrated teaching, campus-wide involvement initiatives, student-led programming, community engagement partnerships, educational leadership, service-learning, and social justice work. Her philosophy is centered on student learning through engagement opportunities linking their curricular and co-curricular experiences. Her personal mission is to foster learning grounded in authenticity and integrity while also inspiring change and empowering our campus community in creative and diverse ways.  

Additionally, in her free time, Meredith loves spending time with friends and family. She also really enjoys being a foodie, watching movies and TV, playing with puppies, rooting on the Yankees and catching up on sleep!

Bailey Clark, M.A.

Bailey completed her MA in Political Science at the University of Central Florida in May of 2016 and her BA in International Relations at Rollins College in 2011. Bailey’s background is in non-profit program management and she is passionate about providing students with the tools and knowledge they need to make a positive difference in the world. Prior to working at Rollins, Bailey was the Education Manager at the Holocaust Center in Maitland, Florida. She also served as a Notre Dame AmeriCorps member at the Hope CommUnity Center in Apopka, Florida.

Within the Center at Rollins College, Bailey directors the Bonner Leaders Program. The Rollins College Bonner Leaders Program provides scholarships to students who are passionate about working directly with local non-profit organizations throughout the academic year. Bailey also oversees civic learning and democratic engagement on campus by directing the Democracy Project and supporting Community Engagement designated courses.

In her free time, Bailey enjoys spending time with her family and pets, playing golf, cooking, and trying new local restaurants. Bailey is an avid sports fan and loves to be outdoors. She is also a proud Florida native who frequents the beach.

Sofia Macias, M.B.A

Sofia obtained her B.A. in International Relations and Elementary Education from Rollins College in 2014, and recently completed her MBA with a focus in Marketing from The Crummer School of Business in 2020. She previously worked as a Work Study in the Center for Leadership & Community Engagement, and served as a Student Coordinator for JUMP, Pathways to College, and Rollins Relief.  

Sofia is a great first point of contact for the department and is always willing to help find an answer or track down another team member. Contact Sofia regarding the JUMP buses, reimbursements, community partner meetings, and general questions about the Center for Leadership & Community Engagement at Rollins.

Aja Williams

Aja serves as one of the Graduate Assistants for the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement where she works with leadership initiatives and immersive experiences. These include Emerging Leadership Institute, Immersion: Citizens Take Action, and the facilitation of CliftonStrengths. She is currently a graduate student at the University of Central Florida where she is pursuing her master’s in Higher Education and Student Personnel. Previously, Aja studied at Stetson University where she received her bachelor’s degree. There she majored in Communication & Media Studies with a minor in Africana Studies

Aja is passionate about leadership education. She served as an undergraduate intern at Stetson University in the Office of Leadership Education and Development for 2 years where she helped with leadership programming. Aja is excited to continue working with leadership education within the Rollins community.

Sunny Toreihi

Sunny completed her B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from Rollins College in May 2020. At Rollins, Sunny was a member of the Bonner Leaders Program for four years and served as one of the Senior Bonner Interns during the 2019-2020 academic year. After graduation, Sunny served as one of five national interns for the Bonner Foundation. During her college tenure, Sunny also was a Resident Assistant for three years and Co-President of Voices, Rollins’ intersectional feminist student organization. 
Participating in six Immersion service experiences throughout her undergraduate journey, Sunny found her passion for community engagement and life long learning towards intersectional feminist policy issues. In her free time, Sunny enjoys reading political philosophy, going to the beach, free writing, and running.
