International Travel
If you have not departed the U.S., OISSS recommends that you discuss your travel plans with us prior to making them.  Due to the following concerns, you may wish to reconsider if travel is necessary at this time.

Consulate and Embassy Closures
In response to the covid-19 pandemic, the U.S. Department of State has suspended routine visa services in most countries worldwide. We have begun to hear of some possible reopenings. We recommend that you check the website of the embassy or consulate for its current operating status.
We also encourage you to keep up-to-date with the College’s announcements regarding COVID-19 which will include protocols for being on or returning to campus.

Travel Restrictions and Bans
The White House has announced several travel restrictions related to COVID-19 that may affect our students and scholars.  Additionally, travel to and from the U.S. has been affected by airlines cancelling or reducing flights. For a detailed and complete list of travel bans or restrictions currently in place, please go to the NAFSA: Association for International Educators website.

I-20 and DS-2019 Travel Signatures
F-1 and J-1 visa holders who need a new travel signature on their Form I-20 or DS-2019 (valid for 12 months, except if you are on OPT, then its every 6 months) should contact OISSS.  If we can't get you a travel signature before you leave the U.S., don't worry we will email you a new form with a signature for your return.
