Director of Global Initiatives

Giselda Beaudin was the Director of International Programs until fall 2017, when she transitioned into her current role as Director of Global Initiatives.  Before coming to Rollins, she was Assistant Director of International Programs at Binghamton University. She has led workshops at NAFSA regional and national conferences and presented at NAFSA regional and state conferences, at the Forum for Education Abroad, the Association for International Education Administrators, and the Association for American Colleges and Universities.  She currently serves as the Chair of the CAPA Academic Advisory Board and sits on the Forum on Education Abroad Council and the ISA Advisory Board.  She publishes regularly in the field of Education Abroad (most recent publication is a co-authored chapter in Education Abroad and the Undergraduate Experience:  Critical Perspectives and Approaches to Integration with Student Learning and Development), has taught several times at Jacobs University in Germany, and served as a participating faculty member at the Critical Thinking Institute in Hungary.  She was a member of the NAFSA Trainer Corps, served as a member of the NAFSA Consular Liaison Sub-committee, and has served on multiple Forum on Education Abroad working groups. Giselda earned her BA in Comparative Literature from Brown University and her MA in English and Creative Writing from Binghamton University.  She has studied abroad in China and Quebec; has lived abroad in France and Italy; and has traveled in Australia, Europe, Central America, South America, the Middle East and Asia.

Associate Director

Mary was born in Seoul, South Korea, and adopted to the US at the age of five and has lived in Central Florida ever since. Mary earned her BA in Humanities with a minor in Women’s Studies from Rollins Hamilton Holt School and her MA in Liberal Studies (MLS) from Rollins as well. She participated in six field studies during her time as a student at Rollins and has a passion for travel. She has worked at Rollins since 2012 and in the Office of International Programs since 2017. She has mentored students, currently co-advises the Asian American Pacific Islander Student Union, and served as past co-chair of the Diversity Council. In the field of Education Abroad she has served on the Forum on Education Abroad's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Working Group, the NAFSA Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee, and the Diversity Abroad Foundations in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force. Mary developed and teaches the rFLA 300 course Asian American Identity Through Representation. She is committed to DEIB and social justice work and has written articles, given presentations, and facilitated workshops. She is excited to help students travel abroad and become global citizens. Mary has traveled to many countries and looks forward to more travel in the future.

Jenn Read (she/her/hers), M.A.

Jenn Read (she/her/hers), M.A.

Study Abroad Coordinator

Originally from Nashville, TN, Jenn Read has been working on international education programs in the US and overseas for the past 7 years. Jenn holds an MA in Higher Education from the University of Wollongong and a BA in Liberal Studies concentrations in Global Studies and Education from Middle Tennessee State University. Prior to her appointment at Rollins, she served as the Resident Director for New South Wales, Australia for The Education Abroad Network and as an International Student Advisor at the University of Technology in Sydney, providing support to incoming students from Europe and the Americas. Most recently, she served as a Research Assistant in the Department of Diversity and Equity at the University of New South Wales in Sydney where her research areas included Refugee Education and Teaching English to Speakers of other languages. Jenn has lived in the UK and Australia and travelled within several countries located in Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Asia Pacific. She loves teaching and learning about different cultures and meeting people from around the world.

Karen Chamberlin (she/her/hers), B.A.

Senior Program Assistant

Karen comes to International Programs following a career in advertising, having worked for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, and advertising agencies specializing in tourism and hospitality accounts such as hotel companies in Spain, Mexico and the Caribbean. She received her BA in Latin American Studies from Rollins College and studied in Madrid the spring semester of her junior year, when she also took a Spring break trip to Morocco. Karen has spent several summers in Argentina, and has traveled to England, Ireland, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Finland. In addition to travel, Karen has a passion for genealogy. Karen is a native Floridian, and also a proud Rollins Mom!
