Long Term Disability

Long Term Disability is an insured program underwritten by Symetra.

Plan Information

This benefit provides income protection to eligible faculty and staff during periods of prolonged incapacity (extending beyond 180 days) which are attributable to non-occupational illnesses or injury.   

Level of Coverage:

  • 66 2/3% of base monthly earnings
  • $10,000 monthly maximum

Waiting Period for New Hires: None

Elimination Period: You must be unable to work for a period of 180 days before you are eligible to receive the benefit

Cost: College pays entire cost of the Salary Continuation and the Long Term Disability Plans

Note: It is the responsibility of the employee to make sure that all physician documentation is provided to the insurance company for coverage.
