Hannah Van Sickle is an experienced educator turned freelance writer with a passion for storytelling. She commenced her career teaching high-school English in New England and gleaned additional strategies for supporting adolescent writers as a one-on-one academic tutor and writing coach. For the past nine years, she has worked with nonprofit clients to illustrate their impact through the written word.
Her current niche, at the intersection of academia and storytelling, is a natural fit. Van Sickle’s work has appeared in print and online for institutions of higher education, including Rollins College, Brandeis University, Oberlin College, University of Puget Sound, and William James College.
Van Sickle holds a master of arts in liberal studies from Wesleyan University and a bachelor’s in English writing and fine arts from St. Lawrence University. She is the mother of two college-age daughters, and her experience parenting them can be found in the pages of Parents, Refinery29, and Business Insider.
