Spanish Studies Programs
The department offers two Spanish programs for majors—one for native speakers and another for nonnative speakers. Because native speakers vary in language proficiency, faculty determine whether to classify a student as a native speaker.
Spanish Program Details
With over 400 million speakers worldwide, Spanish is the fourth most spoken language in the world. Here in the United States, over 30 million people speak Spanish, making the U.S. the fourth largest Spanish-speaking country in the world!
