Below are answers to questions regarding Family Weekend 2018. Check back in late August 2018 for an updated FAQ for this year's Family Weekend!

When should families arrive and depart?

Check-in and packet pick-up opens at 10:30 a.m. on November 2, 2018. If you would like to meet with your student's advisor, meetings are available by appointment on Friday only. Friday's schedule is full of great open houses across campus, and a fun Street Party don't miss it! Saturday morning, there will be a selection of morning programs followed by a picnic on the Mills Lawn. Saturday afternoon includes a parent-to-parent panel, sports exhibitions, an evening WPRK concert, and trivia night! Sunday events include our annual Founder's Day worship service that will conclude by noon.

Where should I park?

The parking is open and free in the SunTrust Parking garage and on-campus. The SunTrust Parking Garage on is located on Lyman Avenue.

How do families register?

Registration will be online - a link can be found on the Family Weekend homepage once registration goes live in early September. As part of the registration process, you will receive a confirmation of the events your family signed up to attend. Registered families may pick up their information packets beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 2 in the Archibald Granville Bush Science Center Auditorium Lobby. Onsite registration begins at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 2, in the Archibald Granville Bush Science Center Auditorium Lobby.

What is the cost?

The registration fee is $53 per family for the weekend festivities. Should an event require an additional fee, it will be noted in the registration information. 

How do I schedule an appointment with my student's advisor?

You may request an appointment with your student’s advisor by contacting the Student Affairs office by email ( with your student’s name, faculty advisor, and the time you will arrive on campus on Friday, November 2. All appointments must be requested by Monday, October 29 to ensure appointments times can be scheduled. Please know, appointments are based on faculty availability.
