Associated Colleges of the South

Summer Teaching Workshop

The annual Associated Colleges of the South (ACS) Teaching Workshop emphasizes teaching and learning as central to the academic profession. Each year Rollins pays for two or three faculty to attend the workshop, and several of our faculty serve as instructors as well.

Participants will:

  • Build on existing strengths in their teaching and identify areas for growth
  • Increase awareness of learners’ experiences in the classroom
  • Explore new teaching and learning strategies
  • Contribute to a collaborative community in which they can reflect on their classroom choices and how those choices affect learners and learning

This opportunity is not only for new professors; in fact, mid-career and even veteran faculty find themselves reinvigorated after attending the Workshop and meeting colleagues from across the ACS. Regardless of rank, the Workshop is most effective for reflective teachers who are open to feedback. You can find further information on the ACS website.

Look for the call for expressions of interest from the Dean of the Faculty in the late fall each year.
