June 2022 COVID Update – Mask Recommendations

Dear Campus Community:

I’d like to provide a COVID update for our campus.

The COVID-19 Community Level for most of Central Florida is currently “High.” Levels are determined by new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents, as well as COVID-19's impact on the County’s healthcare system.

Because of this recent increase, faculty, staff, and students on campus are urged to:

  • Wear a mask indoors in public
  • Stay up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccines
  • Get tested if you have symptoms of COVID-19

Seek treatment with a healthcare provider for COVID-19, if eligible.

We urge those at high risk for severe illness to take additional precautions.

Please refer to the message sent from Human Resources in May about COVID-19 isolation and quarantine protocols if you are exposed to someone with COVID-19 or test positive for COVID-19.

At this time, we are not re-instating a mask mandate for campus, but we will continue to monitor County levels and other factors. You can find the most up-to-date information for Orange County on the Florida Department of Health’s site.
