“Chasing Wisdom” Explores New Paradigm of Business and Leadership

Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business professor’s new book explores how applying Biblical teachings can strengthen business and leadership practices

Oct. 14, 2014 – On October 28, the Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business will host an evening with Samuel Certo, PhD, a Professor of Management at the Crummer Graduate School of Business, to coincide with his latest book.

Chasing Wisdom: Finding Everyday Leadership in Business and Life” explains how Biblical principles can provide business professionals and leaders with a new way of thinking in everyday interactions.

While faith-based tenets and messages, from Judaism, Buddhism, and Islam, along with Sun Tzu warfare philosophies, have long been studied by businesspeople seeking leadership guidance, Certo says Chasing Wisdom is different because of its action-oriented approach. It illustrates teachings such as self-discipline, controlling anger, honesty, building trust, and more through personal conversations with his two adult sons as they started their own businesses.

“I wrote ‘Chasing Wisdom’ to stir a long overdue dialogue about leadership in business that’s virtually absent in today’s world,” Certo says. “The book encourages all professionals to explore how Biblical principles address the challenges we often face and offer solutions we can immediately implement to become wiser.”

In addition to Chasing Wisdom, Certo has authored over 50 college textbooks on the fundamentals of management, strategic management, and supervision that have been translated into different languages and used by over 500,000 students worldwide.
