Rollins MBA Honored by Graduate Management Admission Council

July 14, 2011 - Rollins MBA is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the TeamMBA Award from the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). The annual TeamMBA Award program recognizes schools that exemplify a commitment to social responsibility through the actions of their students and the school's demonstrated support of these efforts.

Rollins College’s MBA program was awarded the Overall Institution Award for its commitment to promoting and supporting community engagement in Central Florida. Entries are reviewed by a committee comprised of business school professionals and encompass a diversity of schools and activities. Awards are given in two categories: Individual Initiative/Service Project Award and the Overall Institution Award, which recognizes a culture of community service.

“Community engagement is one of the core principles of leadership development at Rollins MBA because we understand that effective leaders support their communities through sharing time, talent and resources,” said Susan A. Bach, executive director at the Rollins MBA Center for Leadership Development. “The award from GMAC is an important source of recognition because it acknowledges our commitment to the community. We’ve seen firsthand how partnering with the nonprofit sector helps Rollins MBA students understand the importance of giving back. Through these efforts, students apply what they learn in the classroom while supporting the needs of our neighbors.”

Team MBA is an initiative for students, faculty, and staff in which they join forces to perform community service and participate in charity events to show the world that graduate business students are serious about giving back.
