Four Rollins Professors Receive Tenure

September 20, 2010—The Rollins MBA at the Crummer Graduate School of Business announced today that they have granted tenure status to Dr. Mary Conway Dato-on, international business; Dr. Henrique Correa, operations and supply chain management; Dr. William Seyfried, economics and Dr. Keith Whittingham, sustainable enterprise and management science.

"We're delighted this group of exceptional professors has earned tenure by meeting the high standard that the school has established," said Craig McAllaster, dean, Rollins MBA. "Each of them has the ability to inspire, challenge and educate the next generation of leaders."

Mary Conway Dato-on, International Business
Conway Dato-on is an associate professor of international business at Rollins MBA, where she teaches global research, international business and marketing. With over 25 years of experience, her teaching service spans two continents, including positions at Xavier University, University of Kentucky, and the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines.

Henrique Correa, Operations and Supply Chain Management
Correa previously taught at the Fundacao Getulio Vargas Business School and at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, his alma mater. He also served visiting appointments at the Federal University of Rio (Brazil), University of Warwick (UK), University of Porto (Portugal), INCAE (Costa Rica), among other institutions. Correa has consulted with established companies such as 3M, Unilever, General Motors, Hewlett-Packard, Embraer, Pepsico, Monsanto, Inter-Bev, Wella (P&G), and Telemar. He has published extensively in academic journals including the International Journal of Operations and Production Management, Computer Integrated Manufacturing Systems, International Journal of Logistics Systems Management, Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management and Latin America Business Review. Correa has also authored and co-authored eight books and textbooks in the fields of operations strategy, service operations, operations management and manufacturing planning and control systems.

William Seyfried, Economics
Seyfried’s expertise is in the areas of macroeconomics, monetary policy, and the interaction of the financial system and the economy. He has published extensively in professional journals such as the Australian Economic Review, the American Economist, Journal of Economics and Finance and Applied Econometrics and International Development. He has also authored instructor’s manuals for leading textbooks in the areas of money, banking and financial markets, as well as international economics.

Dr. Keith Whittingham, Sustainable Enterprise and Management Science
Whittingham joined the Rollins MBA faculty after seven years with Agere Systems and Lucent Technologies. Over that period, he held a number of management positions in manufacturing, R&D, strategic business development and human resources. Whittingham teaches Global Sustainability and Quantitative Business Analysis and leads consulting projects in the global sustainable enterprise arena. His research includes sustainable development and stakeholder value creation (with a focus in the developing world), and related quantitative studies in operations management, behavioral science and international business. Recent research articles have been published in the Global Business and Finance Review, the Journal of Education for Business and the Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education.
