Relive your favorite moments from this year’s Fox Day, an epic celebration of Rollins’ most beloved tradition.

In the wee hours of Wednesday, April 6, the Fox made his annual springtime appearance on Tars Plaza, signaling the start of everyone’s favorite day of the year when classes are cancelled and everyone heads outside for a day-long dose of vitamin D. Tars savored every second of fun in the sun—from pool time at Lakeside Neighborhood to paddleboarding on Lake Virginia.

From daybreak to sunset, here are a few of our favorite moments from Fox Day 2022.

It all started when President Cornwell rolled out the beloved fox statue onto Tars Plaza in the early hours of Wednesday, April 6, kicking off everyone’s favorite day of the year.

Even the Fox needs a little sustenance to kick his Fox Day off right, so he joined students for some much-needed breakfast in Skillman Dining Hall before hitting the pool.

Getting out on glistening Lake Virginia is as easy as grabbing a paddleboard, canoe, or kayak to launch right from the campus dock.

The epic pool and wraparound deck in Lakeside Neighborhood offer up more than 12,000 square feet of recreation and relaxation space. Sure, it’s a great study spot too, but on Fox Day, it’s all about working on your tan and catching up with friends on America’s most beautiful campus.

Some Tars headed off campus to Daytona Beach, just an hour from campus, or to explore nearby area attractions like Epcot.

Nothing caps off a day spent soaking up the rays quite like a picnic. The annual Fox Day feast on Mills Lawn was full of favorite comfort foods like barbecue sandwiches, fresh corn on the cob, and cotton candy.

All in all, it was another hugely successful Fox Day with fun and frolic had by all. Now let the countdown begin to that perfect Florida spring day next year when the wily fox will show himself again.
