Scholarships
The Department of Art and Art History offers scholarships to applicants who have declared or are exploring a major in Art History and Studio Art. Minors can apply for travel and research (priority will be given to majors). Scholarships are awarded on the basis of both need and merit and may be applied for annually. Scholarship amounts and durations vary and are not automatically renewed. Subsequent awards are based upon overall performance in the major.
SPECIAL NOTE: As of Spring 2022, all scholarship guidelines and applications have been moved to the Sharepoint folder below. PLEASE BE SURE YOU ARE USING THE APPLICATION AVAILABLE IN THE SHAREPOINT.

Fellowships and Internships
Fellowships and internships can be important steps in preparing for your professional life. They provide opportunities to gain experience in a potential career field, connect classroom learning to practical applications, gain valuable resume-building experience, and develop strong networking skills. Our Art History and Studio Art students have worked with organizations such as the Annie Russell Theatre, Disney, Lure Design, Orlando Museum of Art, Real Thread, and Sotheby's.
On campus, the Rollins Museum of Art offers two fellowships - The Romano and Mariolina Salvatori Interpretive Fellowship, and the Fred W. Hicks Curatorial Fellowship - in which several Art History and Studio Art majors have taken part. These positions are year-long opportunities to gain in-depth training and experience working in a professional museum setting. As a Fellow, students work directly with the education and/or curatorial staff on both long-term projects and day-to-day activities; tasks may include updating object files, assisting with scripting audio guides or writing didactic labels for pieces on view at RMA, The Alfond Inn, and/or the museum’s website, researching the permanent collection, giving public tours, and developing art projects and museum events.
Fellowship start and end dates correspond to the 2022-2023 academic calendar. For more information on applying, please see visit https://www.rollins.edu/rma/education/college-faculty-students.html, or reach out to RMA curator Gisela Carbonell at gcarbonell@rollins.edu.
