Policies and Guidelines

The Office of Accessibility Services is committed to providing equal access to all students.

Equal Access

To access services, students must refer themselves to the Director of Accessibility Services and submit documentation to verify eligibility under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (1990, 2008). Protection under these civil rights statutes is determined on a case-by-case basis and is based upon documentation of a disability that currently substantially limits one or more major life activity.

Admissions Process

There is no separate application or application process for students with disabilities. Students with disabilities apply as any student does and must be qualified for admission according to the College’s admissions criteria. Admitted students are strongly advised to contact the Accessibility Services Director, as soon as they decide to attend the College so that they can submit required documentation in a timely fashion if they plan to request services, including accommodations. Guidelines for required documentation are delineated under “Specific Documentation Guidelines.”
