The 2008 application deadline is January 25, 2008.

Please consult Frequently Asked Questions for further information regarding the Priscilla L. Parker Scholarships.

All Priscilla L. Parker Scholarship applicants must:

APPLY for Admission to the Rollins College Arts and Sciences program.

SUBMIT a Rollins College Supplemental Financial Aid Application.

COMPLETE a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available from your high school guidance office, college financial aid office, or www.FAFSA.ed.gov. Be sure to list Rollins College, code 001515, as a recipient of your information.

COMPLETE the Florida Access Grant Application, if you meet the requirements for Florida residency for financial aid purposes, and you did not complete one in a previous year. Residency requirements are provided with the application.

COMPLETE a Priscilla L. Parker Application Form

SUBMIT an updated theatre resume that lists on- and backstage experience

SUBMIT a writing sample. There is no need to write a paper for this application; you should choose one of your best research papers from high school (or college, if you are a transfer student). The topic of the paper may be theatre-related but this is not required. The paper should be a minimum of five (5) pages in length, double spaced. MLA citations should be followed.

ATTEND auditions and interviews on the Rollins campus on the weekend of February 23-24, 2008, or submit a video recording.

  • Actors should prepare two separate and contrasting monologues (either comedy/drama or classical/contemporary) totaling 3 minutes. The use of properties or costumes is strongly discouraged. A chair will be provided. An interview with the Theatre and Dance faculty will follow the audition.
  • Actor-Singers may sing 1 song, in addition to the monologues (see above). An accompanist will be provided. Singers must provide sheet music in the appropriate key. A capella singing or the use of recorded music is strongly discouraged. An interview with the Theatre and Dance faculty will follow the audition.

  • Design/Technical applicants and students interested in other facets of theatre (e.g. directing, criticism, management,) should prepare a portfolio (photographs, renderings, critical reviews, narratives of recent design and technical work). Applicants will have 5 minutes to present/describe their work to the selection committee, followed by an interview with the Theatre and Dance faculty.

Students applying via video recording should prepare an audition (or portfolio presentation) using the guidelines outlined above. Video recordings cannot be returned.
