I am Lisa Bliss and have been a program counselor with Rollins College Educational Talent Search program since October of 2011. My previous position was with Orange County Public Schools where I served many wonderful students, most recently as a school counselor in three high schools, Apopka, Ocoee, and Wekiva. My years as a teacher and counselor with OCPS were rewarding and fun, and I loved working with high school students.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana State University and my Master’s Degree from Purdue University. I majored in exceptional education and physical education as an undergraduate and worked toward my school counseling degree during evenings and summers while teaching. Yes, I am from Indiana, but have lived in Florida since 1979.
I enjoy travel and recently visited Mykonos, Greece (as seen in the picture.) My favorite US cities are San Francisco and Chicago, and if you have never been, you must go! I am an avid exerciser, and especially enjoy yoga. Keeping my mind and body active, learning and growing personally and professionally, and making a positive contribution to society are my current goals.
