As the Director of The Hub, Mary Conway Dato-on believes The Hub's key values of diversity, empathy, and system change through building of relationships and competencies among herself, faculty, and staff devotails with her leadership approach and opens opportunities for growth every day. She is particularly proud of the collaborative approach Rollins takes to enable everyone to become a changemaker.

Dr. Conway Dato-on is an Associate Professor of International Business and Social Entrepreneurship at Rollins College, visiting professor at IPADE School of Management in Mexico, Faculty Mentor for the Global Links Program, Faculty Director for The Hub, and a Fulbright Scholar. She also leads biannual global consulting projects, mentoring student-led teams to solve real-world business issues. She has taught in countries such as Denmark, Spain, Japan, China, and the Phillippines. She currently serves the local Winter Park community as President of the Board of Directors for Ten Thousand Villages and also sits on several academic review boards and committees.

Born and Raised in Kenya, Patrick joins us at Rollins from University of Evansville in Indiana, where he not only served as the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Consultant for The Institute for Global Enterprise in Indiana, but also served as Adjunct professor for International Business Strategy and Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Micro-financing for the Business School.

Patrick join us as the Staff Director working together with the Innovation Hub Faculty Director to develop strategies that advance social innovation education across Rollins, in our community, and in higher education more broadly. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations that enable Rollins to build a thriving ecosystem for social innovation across offices, departments, students, staff, and faculty at Rollins to achieve the mission of creating global citizens and responsible leaders.

Melissa Nelson

Melissa comes to Rollins from Appalachian State University, where she was the administrative assistant for the Economics Department, serving 20 faculty and supporting additional needs of the College of Business, for over two and half years.  

Originally from Virginia Beach, VA, she previously worked in finance as well as in professional soccer.  Melissa will be working part-time for The Innovation Hub, and will serve as a point of contact for students, faculty, and the community.  She will support staff with administrative, travel, budget and event management functions.
