Hope CommUnity Center (Summer, Fall, and Spring)

This internship provides students with an opportunity to gain practical understanding of the services offered by the HopeCommunity Center while also gaining a deeper understanding of how race, class, and gender impact the opportunities and life experiences of members of the Apopka farmworker community. The intern will learn valuable skills in the following areas: marketing, fundraising, event planning, program policy and procedure planning, program organizing, and corporate partnering research.

Rollins Program in SWAG (Fall and Spring)

The SWAG intern works closely with the SWAG Program Coordinator, serving as a liaison between faculty and students. The intern attends SWAG Steering Committee meetings and assists with tasks including course scheduling and event planning. S/he also promotes the SWAG minor through social media and collaboration with other campus organizations. Applicants are encouraged to bring new ideas for SWAG programming to the position. The Coordinator works with each intern to ensure that the internship experience incorporates each intern’s own research and/or social justice interests.
