Getting in touch with former classmates to entice them to come to Reunion and support our class gift caused me to drift back to my Rollins days and reminded me of the importance of our role, as Rollins alumni, in supporting our College’s future. It was rewarding that so many of us from the Class of ’76 returned to celebrate our 35th reunion and reconnect with old friends and memories… memories of the special journey that helped shape who we are. The celebration was capped off by our class’s incredible Reunion Class Gift of $116,157 – funds that will support the journey of a new generation of Rollins students.

The experience of working for Reunion 2011 was very inspiring. It was rewarding to talk or e-mail many of the class of 1956, connecting us once again to our grand Rollins. To work for the reunion and then to be on the campus to enjoy it was special. Connecting with others for all the years was easy and fun. Everyone I talked to, alumni, faculty, students, and staff were proud to have Rollins as our college and stay connected for LIFE. I would do it again with JOY!

What an amazing experience it was to be the Class Chair for our 25th reunion at Rollins. Through the use of our Class of 1985 Facebook page and the many phone calls and emails I made to our class, I had the fun of counting down the days in anticipation of our return to Rollins. Seeing so many familiar faces at the Grove Party and dancing at the Celebrating the Decades party were both awesome and exciting. I couldn’t have been more thrilled with the weekend or the experience of being a part of it from start to finish. It was the best Reunion yet… I can’t wait to start planning our 30th!

Serving as a 50th Reunion volunteer renewed my appreciation of my Rollins experience in a very real way.  Encouraging classmates to return to campus by writing, phoning and emailing, and their showing-up for an incredible weekend, has resulted in a long-lasting emotional high six months later!

It was a great experience serving as Class Gift Chair for my 20th Reunion. I love helping our school!

The hard work and effort of the Class of 1960 Reunion Giving Committee was evident over Reunion Weekend as our class celebrated Highest Class Participation with over 40% of the class contributing to the 50th Reunion Class Gift.  It was a wonderful experience serving as a Class Gift volunteer and I know everyone was thrilled with the class results.  It was a memorable time and I know everyone enjoyed the weekend as much as we did.

It turned out that volunteering to write letters and emails to classmates (encouraging them to attend reunion) had the effect of "dusting off" my memory. It prompted me to remember individuals I had not thought of in years, and the more I did, the more I got into the spirit of Reunion.  It was all good and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to volunteer again!

The fun of being a volunteer for my class reunion began long before Reunion. Making personal phone calls months earlier to everyone gave me the chance to talk to so many of my classmates. During the planning stages of Reunion, I had a chance to make suggestions for activities we would enjoy. Volunteering and being a part of all the planning made Reunion seem even more personally satisfying. I'd do it again!!

Helping to organize our 50th Class Reunion was both a privilege and a special experience for me. Reconnecting with classmates after a lifetime brought back memories of the campus, teachers, Park Avenue, Winter Park and so much more. I found that contacting those that I could by email brought the best results. Good luck to the 50th Class --- may they surpass us in numbers.
