Graduate Opportunities

We are currently recruiting for two different opportunities within our office! We have positions available for Explorations Graduate Assistants and Graduate Hall Directors.

 Explorations Graduate Assistant Opportunity

The Rollins College Office of Residential Life and Explorations is recruiting graduate-level candidates seeking work experience in the areas of First-Year Experience and Orientation for the 2017-2018 academic year (start date: July 2017). We will begin our initial interview stages in January 2017. Applicants should not expect to be contacted before that time.

Our Explorations Graduate Assistants will be able to develop in several areas including: leadership development, marketing, budgeting, mentoring, and office administration.

Each graduate assistant must be enrolled full-time in a graduate program at Rollins College or the University of Central Florida. Other graduate programs will be considered on a case by case basis.

Our Explorations Graduate Assistant positions are designed for students enrolled in student affairs, higher education, counseling, or related programs. Priority will be given to those students enrolled in the M.A. Educational Leadership program at the University of Central Florida; however, we also consider Rollins graduate programs in our hiring. Working at Rollins College will allow graduate students to sample other functional areas including Career Services, Student Involvement and Leadership, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Judicial Affairs, Community Engagement, Personal Counseling, Health Services, and Multicultural Affairs. 

  • $12,500 annual financial stipend (paid bi-weekly over the academic year)
  • $500 annual meal stipend
  • No-cost on campus staff parking privileges

Graduate Hall Director Opportunity

The Rollins College Office of Residential Life and Explorations is recruiting graduate-level hall directors for the 2017-2018 academic year (start date: July 2017). We will begin our initial interview stages in January 2017. Applicants should not expect to be contacted before that time. Our hall directors serve in two roles:

  • As a Hall Director our graduate staff will be able to develop general skills applicable to Residential Life and many other areas of Student Affairs including: residence hall management, student staff supervision, leadership development, budgeting, advising, and program development.
  • Additionally, each hall director will have a collateral assignment in one of the following areas: housing, staff development, assessment, marketing, and living learning communities.

This is a live-in position that supervises a residential community on campus and will include night and weekend commitments and 20 office hours weekly. Each graduate assistant must be enrolled full-time in a graduate program at Rollins College or the University of Central Florida. Other graduate programs will be considered on a case by case basis.

Our graduate hall director positions are designed for future Student Affairs professionals. Priority will be given to those students enrolled in the M.A. Educational Leadership program at the University of Central Florida; however, we also consider Rollins graduate programs in our hiring.
