Shabbat, Holidays, and Calendar

Shabbat

Our bi-weekly Shabbat celebration is a staple of Rollins Hillel, in addition to celebrating the Jewish holidays.

Shabbat is a time to spend with family - and a time to take a break from the rest of the week. Dinner is FREE and OPEN TO ALL. Everyone is welcome to join our Hillel family for any of the following Shabbats or Holidays.

On Friday nights we begin at 6:00 pm in the Rex Beach Classroom with student-led traditional Shabbat blessings. We hold a Kosher community Shabbat dinner, catered though KIVO by Sodexo, in the Rex Beach Classroom and anywhere from 20-45 students and community members on a bi-weekly basis.

Holidays

For the High Holidays, Jewish students are welcomed by the community synagogues to participate in those services at no cost. The Hillel staff coordinates transportation to the various local synagogues. A break fast celebration is hosted by Hillel, following the end of Yom Kippur.

Rollins Hillel also hosts and engaging and interactive Passover Seder every spring. It is a highlight of the semester!
