Research Interests

Carnahan's research interests include the development of screening tools for assessment of children's development and program evaluation of community-based programs for children and families. Recently Carnahan's student research teams have partnered with local YMCAs to provide evaluation of after-school programs. In addition, as director of the Rollins College Child Development Center, Carnahan has organized yearly "Good Neighbor Conferences" to share and explore best practices in early childhood education.
