Rollins alumnus Prince Lorenzo Borghese (Class of
1995) was the latest bachelor looking for love on ABC's
The Bachelor: Rome. In January, he came back to Rollins for a series of events, which included an alumni reception in his honor, a meet-and-greet with students, a conversation with Crummer School students and a public talk.
During the talk he reflected on his experience on The Bachelor: Rome, his time in school at Rollins and his life as an entrepreneur. He talked about the difficulty he had adjusting to life in the public eye. "The more success you have, the more you are going to get battered and people are going to try to pull you down," Borghese said. "You have to realize that they are acting out of jealousy. Just move on and forget about it. Rely on your family and friends, and do whatever it takes to be happy."
While Borghese was in town, Winter Park Mayor David Strong proclaimed Tuesday, January 23, 2007 "Lorenzo Borghese Day" in the City of Winter Park. He also received an honorary medal from Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society.
