Rollins has a lot to celebrate. For the fifth consecutive year, we ranked #1 among Southern master’s level universities in “America’s Best Colleges,” released by U.S. News & World Report. We rank among the top 10 master’s-granting institutions in the country for the number of students who study abroad. And we boast distinguished faculty who are dedicated to teaching and who challenge students to broaden their interests and to deepen their talents.
On Friday, January 14, the Rollins community gathered to celebrate another point of pride: student athletes and the men’s soccer team. “This has been a remarkable year for all of Rollins’ student athletes,” said President Lewis M. Duncan. “They truly attest what it is to strive for excellence in and outside of the classroom.”
For the 19th straight semester, student athletes held above a 3.0 GPA. 27 students achieved a perfect 4.0, 52 were named to the President’s list and 243 Tars made the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll with a GPA above 3.0.
Student athletes excelled on the field as well, especially the men’s soccer team. They advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championship game, the furthest in the program’s history; five players were named to All-Sunshine State Conference team; and coach Keith Buckley was named NSCAA South Region Coach of the Year.
