Rollins Among Nation's Leaders in TurboVote Registration Drive

Since June, TurboVote has been helping Rollins students register to vote. The service is provided by Democracy Works, Inc., a nonpartisan, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization devoted to improving civic engagement through the use of technology.

According to their statistics, Rollins is among the nation's leaders in registering students to vote using this service. Nearly 18 percent of the Rollins student body, including students from the Crummer School of Business and Hamilton Holt School, has registered with the site.

Altogether, TurboVote partner schools have signed up 17,489 users—3,128 of them since September 14—representing 2.07 percent of the combined student population of all 52 TurboVote partner schools.

Rollins’ partnership with TurboVote is part of a larger civic engagement initiative known as the Rollins Democracy Project. Spearheaded by the Office of Community Engagement, the Rollins Democracy Project aims to elevate the level of civic engagement of the Rollins community and get students excited about voting in the upcoming election.
