logoRollins has been recognized in Great Colleges to Work For 2010, according to rankings released today by The Chronicle of Higher Education. This is the second consecutive year that Rollins was recognized as a Great College to Work For. The results of the third annual survey were announced in a special supplement of The Chronicle

“It is an honor to appear in the same company as schools such as Duke, Emory and Rice,” said Rollins President Lewis M. Duncan. “We salute Rollins’ employees, who make the College such a special place to work.”

The Chronicle of Higher Education’s Great Colleges to Work For® program recognizes small groups of colleges (based on enrollment size) for specific best practices and policies, such as compensation and benefits, faculty administration relations, and confidence in senior leadership.

According to the The Chronicle, nearly 43,000 professors, administrators and staff members from 275 colleges participated in the survey. Of the participating institutions, 97 were recognized as Great Colleges, meaning they stood out in at least one of 12 categories.  Rollins was recognized in 10 survey categories: collaborative governance; professional/career-development programs; teaching environment, compensation and benefits; facilities, workspace and security; job satisfaction; work/life balance; supervisor/department-chair relationship; respect and appreciation, and tenure clarity and process. Additionally, Rollins was listed in the Honor Roll for medium-sized institutions (3,000 to 9,999 students), which comprises four-year and two-year colleges that were cited in the most categories.

Founded in 1885, Rollins is Florida’s oldest recognized college, and is consistently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of “America's best colleges.” The College of Arts & Sciences offers full-time undergraduate programs in the liberal arts. The Hamilton Holt School serves the Central Florida community by offering exceptional undergraduate and graduate degree programs during evenings and weekends to students diverse in age, experience and professional development. The Crummer Graduate School of Business is consistently ranked by Forbes magazine among the best business schools for return on investment, and Forbes recently ranked the MBA program No. 1 overall in Florida.
