Men's Soccer Team Ranked 3rd in the National Poll

October 21, 2009

SoccerThe men’s soccer team is currently ranked # 3 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II Poll. This is the highest ranking ever for the Rollins men’s soccer team. The Tars are undefeated, and have had two of the biggest wins in school history against nationally ranked teams of the University of Tampa and Lynn University. The most recent win was against Tampa, which was ranked #2 nationally at the time. The support from fans has been critical to the team’s success this season.

“The support we had on Friday was fantastic. It was the best we ever had, and really made a difference,” said Head Coach Keith Buckley.

Rollins has now won 12 consecutive games, breaking the old record of 7, set in 1993. The Tars are only 2 wins away from breaking the highest season win total of 15 games, which was set in 1994. The Tars are only one conference win away from securing the Sunshine State Conference #1 spot, which will get them an invitation to the NCAA tournament. Come out to the next home game and show your school spirit.

The last conference game will be on Saturday, October 24, against Barry University at 7 p.m. on the Cahall-Sandspur Field. Arrive early for senior activities.
