(Winter Park, Fla.) February 3, 2010 - The Central Florida community is invited to join Rollins on Saturday, Feb. 6 for the Our Hearts for Haiti Music Festival sponsored by Rollins Helping Haiti.

Rollins Helping Haiti is a student-led initiative developed in response to the recent disaster in Haiti. The organization gives Rollins an opportunity to reestablish, reinforce, and remind the world of the College’s commitment to global citizenship and responsible leadership. Rollins Helping Haiti will continue its efforts of raising funds and awareness throughout the year, and hopes to send students to aid in relief efforts in the future.

The festival will kick off the initiative and will feature:

• Three local musical performances from Matt Shenk, Maia Ryan and the Shoeless Jesters and Evan Taylor Jones and the Martian Flood Band.
• Sidewalk market sale sponsored by various Rollins student organizations and community members.
• The chance to put together relief packages through Change This World.
• A volleyball tournament.
• A human art show preview from Chance for Change.
• A silent auction and chance drawing with prizes from the local community.

The festival is free and open to the public. Donations are welcome. 100 percent of the proceeds will go directly to the relief efforts in Haiti through Partners in Health.
