Adjunct Professor of Clarinet
Christine Barron, originally from northern Vermont, attended the Crane School of Music at the State University of New York at Potsdam, where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Performance. She studied clarinet primarily with Dr Alan Woy, with additional instruction from Steven Klimowski of the University of Vermont. Christine received her Master of Arts degree in Music at the University of Central Florida, in the studio of Dr. Keith Koons.
Ms. Barron is on the faculty of Rollins College and the Community School of Music, where she serves as the Adjunct Instructor of Clarinet. Additionally, she maintains a private clarinet studio.
Recently, Christine was a Guest Artist in a recital at the Third Annual Single Reed Summit at the Crane School of Music. She has performed with the Bach Festival Orchestra, and is a substitute for the Ocala Symphony Orchestra (formerly known as the Central Florida Symphony Orchestra). Christine recently performed as a klezmer musician at the Congregation of Reform Judaism, is a regular performer at the Winter Park Presbyterian Church, and can be heard frequently all around Central Florida performing as a soloist and in various ensembles, including The Grace Ensemble, The Grateful Klez, and the Orlando Clarinet Quartet.
Ms. Barron’s professional affiliations include membership in the Winter Park Musicale, the World Clarinet Alliance, Sigma Alpha Iota, and the International Clarinet Association.
